Roxanne de Bastion
Roxanne de Bastion reminds us that great lyrics do have a place in pop music. With a nod to 1960’s psychedelia, Roxanne delivers thoughtful social and personal commentary soaked in piano & cello arrangements.
One of the most perfect voices I’ve ever heard”
(Tom Whalley, BBC6)
“Standout number…astonishingly assured”
The Sunday Times)
“If you ever get a chance to see her live – definitely do!”
Born in Berlin to a musical, bilingual family, she started composing and performing at the age of 15. Soon after, Roxanne moved to London, equipped with her guitar, her songs and a one-way ticket.
Glastonbury’s legendary acoustic stage, a showcase at Folk Alliance in the USA, opening for Martha Wainwright, Ricky Ross and Thea Gilmore as well as touring in her own right across Europe only account for a handful of events that filled by Roxanne’s diary over the past twelve months. Her debut album and follow-up EP garnered support from BBC6, Xfm, The Sunday Times, R2 Magazine to name a few. In Germany, Roxanne has even made the prime time news together with Taylor Swift in a feature on the future of music as well as receiving national press in FAZ and Intro Magazine. Roxanne de Bastion is no stranger to the independent music scene supporters across Europe.
Exeter-based singer/songwriter & guitarist Ben Morgan-Brown writes intimate & reflective songs featuring open-tuned guitar, ethereal vocals & obliquely personal lyrics that tip the hat to Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Michael Chapman et al whilst still maintaining a unique musical style & identity.
His new E.P. ‘Cold Rooms’ features five songs written in the last 18 months, a time during which Ben has reflected upon the past few years of his life – turbulent years that have seen him lose both his grandparents, get married & divorced within two years, spend a month in hospital after catching salmonella in Morocco & which culminated with the death of his father in November 2016.
Released in December 2017, ‘Cold Rooms’ has received radio play across the UK and 2018 sees Ben promoting the E.P. with live performances across the South West and beyond including performances at Bridport Folk Festival, Cornwall Folk Festival, How The Light Gets In and support slots for John Bramwell (I Am Kloot) & John Smith.
Son of William

With songs ranging from intimate folk to full throttle rootsy blues, Son of William have already made their mark on Manchesters acoustic scene, despite only performing a handful of gigs. Keep your eyes peeled for their debut EP coming soon
