The Betfred Classic Chase — our feature race of the day and a highlight in our racing calendar.
Last year’s Betfred Classic Chase delivered one of the greatest racing spectacles of the season when Lucinda Russell’s One For Arthur travelled all the way down from Scotland to win the epic three mile and five furlong marathon.
Racing Memorabilia & Racing History Talks
As part of Betfred Classic Chase Day’s entertainment activities we are proud to host a racing memorabilia and history event.
Racing Memorabilia Display
Located in the Paddock Pavilion near the parade ring.
We have organized a number of displays containing unique and special horse racing artefacts that will be of interest to anyone who loves our sport.
Please join in! If you have any articles of interest – trophies, badges, books, photographs or anything at all – then please bring them along. If you have a collection you would like to display, then get in touch and we will organize a table for you for the day.
In between racing we will have a number of short talks from racing historians and legends of the game. These will include one by Chris Pitt, Britain’s most celebrated racing historian, author of the book Long Time Gone, who will discuss the Midlands racecourses that have closed in the last century – including; Moreton-on-the-Marsh, Banbury and Birmingham.
Betfred Classic Chase Day is a date that needs to be in every racing fans diary.
